Attributes come in three classes - mandatory, recommended, and named attributes
Attributes come in three classes - mandatory, recommended, and named attributes
- Mandatory attributes are minimum set a server must present and properly represent in its internal handling
- Recommended attributes represent file and filesystem characteristics and will result in better interoperability
- Named attributes are opaque byte-streams associated with a directory or file and are referred to by string name. They are meant for use by applications to make associations (resource forks?)
ACLS are an important recommended attributes
